Farrell
is a native Arkansan residing in Arkadelphia, Arkansas for the past
38 years. Her interest in art started as a child. Formal training
started with private lessons and then as a student of the arts at
the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville and at Henderson State
University in Arkadelphia where she earned a Batchelor and a Masters
degree. She has taught art in the public schools, at private lessons
and in group workshops. Her experience includes commissions mostly
in the area of landscapes with various exhibitions and awards.
"When drawing and painting as a small child,
I did not know I was an artist. Art, as such, was not a part of
the school curriculum except as I illustrated with drawings to enhance
my school work. In my mid-thirties I received formal instruction
in the visual arts and started a teaching career as an art teacher.
I gain much pleasure in artistic expression and will paint on anything
that stands still long enough with whatever medium that is compatible.
You will usually see nature as the background in my paintings. We
are very excited to welcome you to our third annual Round About
Artist Studio Tour. Come on around to the back yard Country Barn
Studio for a visit with me and Maggie, the studio cat."
