Dan
Leamons is a lifetime resident of Arkansas living in the small town
of Gurdon. As a child, he always loved to draw people, places and
things - both real and imaginary. As an adult, art got put on a
back burner as college, career, and family took priority. In 2007,
Dan rediscovered his love for art, and began drawing again, and
eventually experimented with painting in Acrylics, and has been
hooked ever since. Since that time, he has shown in several exhibitions,
and has works in private collections in several states. A deep love
for all art has led him to experiment with other mediums, including
his most recent interest in Oil painting.
Utilizing a background in Computer Information Systems, Dan
maintains his own website - http://www.danleamons.com - with an
online gallery of many of his original paintings, as well as a calendar
of upcoming shows and exhibits. When work and website maintenance
allow free time, Dan can be found in his studio at his house surrounded
by family and pets. Several cats, a dachsund, a parakeet, and recently
a fish provide many distractions during long afternoons painting
at the easel. For Dan, subject matter covers many categories - simple
still life settings, beautiful sunsets, local wildlife, florals,
and cherished portraits. Dan divides his time between painting commisioned
paintings and creating new works straight from the heart. After
all, its not about what you SEE in a painting, its about what you
FEEL in a painting!
